Pallet Furniture

Handcrafted furniture that tells a story. Every piece is built from reclaimed pallet wood, giving new purpose to materials that would otherwise go to waste. Sustainable style for your home, office, or venue.

Our furniture workshop is part of our Tucson pallet yard — the same facility where we sort, repair, and recycle thousands of pallets every week. The best-looking hardwood boards are pulled from the recycling stream and reserved for furniture production. Each piece carries the history of its previous life — nail holes, natural patina, and grain patterns that no factory-made furniture can replicate.

What We Build

Coffee Tables

Rustic-industrial coffee tables with glass or wood tops. Each piece is unique, showcasing the natural character of reclaimed pallet wood. Available in rectangular, square, and round tops. Optional hairpin legs, pipe legs, or integrated pallet-wood bases with storage compartments.

Dining Tables

Full-size dining tables that seat 4–8. Sanded, stained, and sealed for daily use. Available in farmhouse, modern, and industrial styles. We match the finish to your existing decor and can add breadboard ends, live edges, or epoxy-filled knot holes for added character.

Outdoor Benches

Weather-treated pallet benches for patios, gardens, and commercial outdoor spaces. Built to handle Arizona's sun and monsoon seasons with UV-resistant sealant and stainless steel hardware. Standard lengths from 4 to 8 feet, with or without backrests.

Shelving Units

Wall-mounted and freestanding shelving made from pallet boards. Perfect for retail displays, home decor, or workshop storage. Floating shelf sets, ladder-style units, and cubby-style configurations available. Each shelf is sanded smooth and sealed for indoor use.

Garden Planters

Raised garden beds and standing planters built from pallet wood. Lined and treated for soil contact. Multiple sizes available, from compact herb boxes to full 4x8-foot raised beds. Standing planters include legs at a comfortable 30-inch working height.

Bar Counters

Custom bar tops and serving counters for restaurants, breweries, and home bars. Real reclaimed character with a professional finish. We build freestanding bars, wall-mounted bar ledges, and full bar systems with footrails, storage shelving, and built-in cooler compartments.

Bed Frames

Platform bed frames in twin through king sizes. Includes headboard and optional under-bed storage drawers. The headboard features horizontal pallet boards with a warm stained finish. All hardware is concealed for a clean look, and frames ship partially assembled for easy setup.

Custom Pieces

Have something specific in mind? We build custom furniture pieces from pallet wood to your design and dimensions. Past custom projects include wine racks, dog beds, desk organizers, coat racks, room dividers, and outdoor cabanas. If you can sketch it, we can build it.

Our Process

From raw pallet to finished furniture in five careful steps. Every piece goes through this process to ensure quality, safety, and durability.

01

Pallet Selection

We hand-select pallets based on wood species, grain pattern, age, and character. Hardwood pallets (oak, maple) are preferred for furniture because of their density, grain beauty, and durability. We avoid pallets that have been chemically treated — only heat-treated or untreated pallets enter our furniture workshop.

02

Disassembly & Inspection

Each pallet is carefully disassembled board by board using a pry bar and pneumatic nail puller to minimize splitting. Every board is inspected for hidden nails, staples, and metal fragments using a handheld metal detector. Damaged or unsuitable boards are set aside for smaller accent pieces or returned to recycling.

03

Milling & Dimensioning

Boards are planed to uniform thickness, then ripped and crosscut to the dimensions required for your piece. This step transforms rough pallet lumber into furniture-grade stock while preserving the natural character — nail holes, patina, and grain patterns are maintained intentionally as design features.

04

Construction & Assembly

Your piece is assembled using traditional woodworking joinery wherever possible — mortise and tenon, pocket screws, dowels, and wood glue. We reinforce high-stress joints with steel brackets concealed inside the structure. Every furniture piece is built to support daily use for decades, not just look good on delivery day.

05

Finishing & Sealing

The final step is sanding (from 80 to 220 grit), staining to your chosen color, and applying 2–3 coats of protective finish. Indoor pieces get polyurethane or lacquer for durability and easy cleaning. Outdoor pieces get marine-grade spar urethane or exterior oil for UV and moisture protection. We also offer natural wax finishes for a softer, low-sheen look.

Wood Treatment & Finishing Options

Choose a finish that matches your space. Every option is applied by hand in our Tucson workshop with 2–3 coats for lasting protection.

Why Pallet Furniture?

100% Upcycled

Every piece is made from reclaimed pallets. No new trees cut, no new waste created. By choosing pallet furniture, you are keeping wood out of the landfill and giving it a second life that can last for decades.

Unique Character

Natural wood grain, nail holes, and patina give each piece one-of-a-kind character that cannot be replicated by mass-produced furniture. No two pieces are ever identical — your table, shelf, or bench is genuinely one of a kind.

Built to Last

Pallet wood is dense and durable — it was engineered to carry thousands of pounds. Properly milled, joined, and finished, it makes furniture that stands up to daily use for years. Our joinery and hardware are commercial-grade.

Commercial Projects

Pallet furniture is not just for homes. We build for restaurants, offices, event venues, and retail spaces across Tucson and Southern Arizona. Here is what we can do for commercial clients.

Restaurants & Breweries

We have built pallet-wood features for restaurants and taprooms across Tucson, including communal dining tables seating 12, bar tops with live-edge character, wall paneling that transforms blank drywall into a warm accent feature, and host stands with built-in tablet holders. Pallet wood gives food and beverage venues authentic, sustainable character that resonates with customers.

Common builds: Communal tables, bar tops, wall paneling, host stands, booth dividers, menu boards

Offices & Coworking Spaces

Modern offices use pallet furniture to create warm, creative environments. We build reception desks, conference tables, phone booth enclosures, lounge seating, and open shelving systems. The industrial aesthetic of pallet wood pairs naturally with exposed ductwork, polished concrete, and the startup culture of Tucson's growing tech scene.

Common builds: Reception desks, conference tables, phone booths, lounge areas, shelving systems

Event Venues & Weddings

Pallet furniture has become a staple of Tucson outdoor events, desert weddings, and festival installations. We build ceremony backdrops, escort card displays, gift tables, lounge seating, and photo booth frames. Rental programs are available for recurring event needs — we deliver, set up, break down, and pick up.

Common builds: Ceremony backdrops, lounge areas, bars, photo frames, escort displays, signage

Retail & Pop-Up Shops

Retail stores and pop-up shops use pallet displays to create an authentic, handmade shopping experience. We build product display tables, wall-mounted shelving, clothing racks, checkout counters, and signage holders. Pallet displays draw customer attention and reinforce a brand's commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship.

Common builds: Display tables, wall shelving, clothing racks, checkout counters, signage

Care & Maintenance Guide

Pallet furniture is built tough, but a little care goes a long way toward keeping your pieces looking great for years. Follow these guidelines for indoor and outdoor furniture.

Indoor Furniture Care

  • Dust weekly with a soft, dry cloth or microfiber duster to prevent buildup in the wood grain
  • Clean spills immediately with a slightly damp cloth — do not let liquids sit on the surface
  • Use coasters and placemats on dining tables and coffee tables to prevent water rings and heat marks
  • Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight near windows, which can cause uneven fading over time
  • Re-apply furniture wax or oil once per year to maintain the finish and prevent drying
  • Tighten any visible hardware (bolts, screws) every 6 months as wood naturally expands and contracts

Outdoor Furniture Care

  • Apply UV-blocking exterior sealant every 2–3 years (annually if in full Arizona sun exposure)
  • Bring cushions and fabric accessories indoors during monsoon season or when not in use
  • Hose off dust and debris monthly — Tucson's alkaline dust can degrade finishes faster if left on
  • Check for loose fasteners after monsoon season, as repeated wetting and drying cycles can shift joints
  • Sand and re-seal any areas where the finish has worn through before moisture can penetrate the wood
  • Store lightweight pieces (chairs, small tables) in a covered area during extended periods of non-use

Custom Design Process

Want something built specifically for your space? Here is exactly how a custom furniture order works from first contact to delivery.

01

Share Your Vision

Send us a photo, sketch, Pinterest link, napkin drawing, or just a written description of what you want. Include approximate dimensions and where the piece will live (indoor, outdoor, commercial, residential). We have built from all of these starting points.

02

Design Consultation

We discuss wood species, finish options, hardware choices, and structural requirements. For commercial projects, we visit your space to take measurements and understand the environment. We provide a detailed quote with materials, labor, and delivery costs.

03

Material Selection

We pull pallet boards from our inventory that match the character, grain pattern, and color tone you want. If you prefer a specific look — darker aged patina, lighter oak, tight grain — we curate the boards before cutting begins. You are welcome to visit and hand-pick boards yourself.

04

Build & Progress Updates

Your piece is built in our workshop over 1–3 weeks depending on complexity. We send progress photos at key stages — rough assembly, sanding, and first coat of finish — so you can provide feedback before the piece is completed.

05

Finish Approval

Before applying the final coat of finish, we send a photo of the stained piece for your approval. If the color or sheen is not quite right, we adjust at this stage at no extra cost. We want you to love the finished product.

06

Delivery & Setup

We deliver your finished piece to your location in Tucson or Southern Arizona. For large pieces like dining tables, bar counters, or commercial installations, we bring it inside and set it up in its final position. Assembly of multi-part pieces is included.
