Buying Pallets

What pallet sizes do you have in stock?
We maintain inventory of all standard North American sizes including 48x40 (GMA), 42x42, 48x48, 48x42, 40x40, and 48x36. Custom sizes are available on a build-to-order basis. Check our size guide for complete details.
What's the difference between pallet grades?
Pallets are graded A through D based on condition. Grade A is like-new with no visible damage. Grade B shows light wear but full structural integrity. Grade C has moderate wear and may have multiple repairs. Grade D is suitable for single use only. See our detailed pallet grades guide for more.
What's the minimum order quantity?
No minimum for pickup orders. For delivery, we recommend at least 50 pallets to maximize value. We offer volume discounts starting at 200+ pallets.
How quickly can I get pallets?
In-stock pallets are available for same-day pickup. Delivery to Tucson metro addresses is typically next-day. Custom orders take 3-5 business days depending on complexity and quantity.
Do you offer recycled pallets for food-grade use?
Grade A recycled pallets are suitable for many food distribution applications. For FDA-regulated environments or direct food contact, we recommend new pallets or heat-treated options. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Selling Pallets

How much do you pay for used pallets?
Pricing depends on size, grade, and quantity. Standard 48x40 pallets in good condition typically fetch $2-$6 each. Odd sizes and damaged pallets are priced based on lumber recovery value. Contact us for a specific quote.
Do you pick up pallets from my location?
Yes. We offer free pickup within the Tucson metro area for quantities of 50+ pallets. Smaller quantities and extended-area pickups may have a nominal transport fee.
How do I get paid?
Payment is processed at the time of pickup. We offer check, ACH bank transfer, or credit toward future pallet purchases. For recurring sellers, we set up standing payment terms.

Recycling

What happens to pallets that can't be repaired?
Pallets beyond repair are dismantled. Usable boards are salvaged for pallet building. Remaining wood is chipped into landscape mulch, animal bedding, or biomass fuel. Nails and metal are recycled as scrap. Nothing goes to the landfill.
Can you provide a recycling certificate?
Yes. We issue certificates of recycling that document the quantity and weight of pallets recycled through our facility. These are commonly used for corporate sustainability reporting and ESG disclosures.
Do you accept pallets with nails, paint, or chemical staining?
We accept most pallets regardless of condition. Pallets with known chemical contamination (e.g., hazardous material spills) require advance notice so we can arrange appropriate handling.

Services

What is ISPM-15 heat treatment?
ISPM-15 is an international regulation requiring wood packaging materials to be heat-treated (56 degrees Celsius core temp for 30 minutes) before crossing international borders. This eliminates pests and pathogens. We offer certified heat treatment with official HT stamps.
How does the pallet management program work?
We handle your entire pallet supply chain: sourcing, inventory management, scheduled delivery, retrieval of empties, repair, and recycling. You receive a single monthly invoice and detailed reports. It replaces the complexity of managing multiple pallet vendors.
What areas do you deliver to?
Our primary delivery zone covers the Tucson metro area (free delivery for qualifying orders). Our extended zone reaches Sierra Vista, Nogales, Casa Grande, Benson, and surrounding areas with a nominal delivery fee.
Do you offer pallet repair services?
Yes. We repair broken boards, split stringers, loose nails, and other common damage. Repair costs are typically 50-70% less than replacing with a new pallet. Same-day turnaround is available for standard repairs.

Environmental & Sustainability

What is the carbon footprint of a recycled pallet compared to a new one?
A recycled pallet produces roughly 75-80% less carbon emissions than manufacturing a new pallet from raw lumber. The new pallet lifecycle includes harvesting, transportation of logs, sawmill operations, kiln drying, and assembly, all of which generate significant CO2. A recycled pallet skips nearly all of those steps, requiring only transport to our facility, inspection, minor repairs, and redistribution. On average, each recycled pallet saves approximately 27 pounds of CO2 compared to its new equivalent.
Do you have any environmental certifications?
We operate in compliance with Arizona Department of Environmental Quality regulations and maintain documentation for all recycling operations. We issue certificates of recycling for every order processed through our facility. We also track our environmental impact metrics using EPA methodology and NWPCA industry standards, which we publish in our Sustainability Impact Report. Businesses can use our data and certificates for their own ESG and sustainability reporting requirements.
How does buying recycled pallets help my company's sustainability goals?
Every recycled pallet you purchase diverts approximately 30 pounds of wood waste from landfills, saves 12 gallons of water, preserves 0.15 trees, and prevents 27 pounds of CO2 emissions. For companies with ESG reporting requirements, purchasing recycled pallets is one of the simplest and most measurable sustainability actions you can take. We provide documentation of these savings that can be directly referenced in annual sustainability reports, CDP disclosures, and supply chain audits.
What percentage of pallets that enter your facility are recycled versus landfilled?
We operate a zero-landfill facility. One hundred percent of incoming pallets are either repaired and returned to service, dismantled and the lumber reused in new pallets, or processed into byproducts like landscape mulch, animal bedding, and biomass fuel. Metal fasteners are separated and sent to scrap metal recyclers. Our material recovery rate is effectively 100%.
Can recycled pallets be used in a certified organic supply chain?
Yes, in many cases. Grade A and B recycled pallets that have not been treated with chemical preservatives are generally acceptable for organic supply chains. For USDA Organic or similar certifications, the key requirement is that the pallet has not been treated with prohibited substances. Our heat-treated pallets (which use only thermal treatment, no chemicals) are typically compliant. We recommend confirming with your certifying body, and we can provide documentation of the treatment history for any pallet we supply.

Pricing & Payment

How do I get a price quote?
The fastest way to get a quote is to fill out the contact form on our website or call us directly. Tell us the pallet size, grade, quantity, and whether you need delivery or will pick up. We respond with a detailed quote within 24 hours on business days. For standard 48x40 pallets in common grades, we can often provide pricing within minutes by phone.
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes. Our pricing is tiered based on volume. Discounts begin at 200+ pallets and increase at 500, 1,000, and 5,000+ unit thresholds. The savings can be significant. For example, Grade B 48x40 pallets priced at $7 each for small orders may drop to $5.50 or less per pallet at the 1,000-unit level. Contact us with your expected annual volume and we will build a pricing schedule for you.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept business checks, ACH bank transfers, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), and cash for pickup orders. For established business customers with recurring orders, we offer Net 15 and Net 30 payment terms upon credit approval. New customers typically start with payment on delivery and can transition to terms after establishing a track record.
Are delivery charges included in the pallet price?
Delivery within the Tucson metro area is free for orders of 100+ pallets. For smaller orders or deliveries outside the metro area (Sierra Vista, Nogales, Casa Grande, Benson, and other extended-zone locations), a delivery fee applies. The fee varies based on distance and load size, but typically ranges from $50 to $150. We always quote delivery fees upfront so there are no surprises.
Can I set up a recurring order with locked-in pricing?
Yes. We offer recurring order agreements with fixed pricing for 3, 6, or 12 month terms. You specify your pallet size, grade, quantity, and delivery frequency, and we lock in the per-pallet price for the duration of the agreement. This protects you from seasonal price fluctuations and guarantees supply priority during high-demand periods like the fall shipping season.

Technical Specifications

What is the load capacity of a standard 48x40 pallet?
A new or Grade A 48x40 GMA stringer pallet has a dynamic load capacity (while being moved by a forklift) of approximately 2,500 pounds and a static load capacity (while sitting on the floor or in racking) of approximately 2,800 pounds. Racking load capacity, where the pallet is supported only at its ends in a pallet rack, is approximately 2,000 pounds. Grade B pallets maintain these full specifications. Grade C pallets may have reduced capacity of approximately 80% of these values, and Grade D pallets are rated for approximately 60% of full specification.
What moisture content should I expect in recycled pallets?
Recycled pallets stored in our covered facility in Tucson typically have a moisture content of 8-14%, which is well within the acceptable range for most applications. Arizona's dry climate is actually advantageous for pallet quality, as lower humidity means less risk of mold, fungal growth, and dimensional instability. Heat-treated pallets will have been dried to approximately 19% or lower during the treatment process. If your application requires specific moisture levels (for example, below 12% for certain food or pharmaceutical applications), let us know and we can select pallets that meet your requirement.
What types of wood are your pallets made from?
The majority of pallets in the North American market are made from southern yellow pine (SYP) or mixed hardwoods including oak, maple, birch, and poplar. Southern yellow pine is the most common species because it is abundant, affordable, and has good strength-to-weight ratio. Hardwood pallets are heavier but offer superior durability and are often preferred for heavy loads and multi-trip applications. We can supply pallets in specific wood species upon request, though availability varies by season.
Can your pallets be used in pallet racking systems?
Grade A and Grade B pallets are suitable for standard selective pallet racking, drive-in racking, and push-back racking systems. The key requirements are accurate dimensions (within plus or minus 1/4 inch tolerance), no broken or missing bottom deck boards, and intact stringers with no cracks. Grade C pallets may work in racking but require individual inspection as their dimensional consistency is lower. Grade D pallets are not recommended for racking applications. If you use automated systems or deep-lane racking, tell us your system specifications and we will ensure the pallets meet your tolerances.
Do your pallets comply with ISPM-15 for international shipping?
We offer ISPM-15 compliant pallets through our certified heat treatment service. Pallets are heat-treated to a core temperature of 56 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 30 consecutive minutes, which meets the international standard for phytosanitary treatment of wood packaging materials. Each treated pallet is stamped with the official IPPC/HT mark that is recognized by customs agencies worldwide. Note that standard recycled pallets do not automatically carry ISPM-15 certification. If you need certified pallets for international shipments, specify this when ordering and we will treat and stamp them accordingly.
